Artisan Crafts / Folding & Papercraft

Pyrography on card. My first A4 image - it's a lot easier to get details into the bigger image, but I've found that although card is useful for practicing on, it doesn't give the same opportunities for shading as wood. Nibs used - small wedge and round shader.

This is too adorable. I love this. When did you decide to take up burning? I haven't done that since the Cub Scouts. It worked out ok thought because the club house was covered by fire insurance and everyone said we needed a new club house anyway.

Anyway, are you going to do a lot more of these? It's a nice departure from digital art isn't it.

Thank you!! Ooh, I originally started a few years back - did a couple of months, then had to move and my pyrography stuff got lost in the process. I was browsing ebay, and saw a pretty cheap pen, and decided to give it a shot again, since I enjoyed it last time.

And yeah, I am - I'd forgotten how enjoyable it is.
